Rayito de Sol knows that the best toddler environment and curriculum encourages each child’s growing need for independence and development of self-esteem in a safe and supportive manner.

The toddler program serves children who are between the ages of 16 months and 33 months of age.
Our toddler program utilizes creative learning areas, an environment-based curriculum developed by Rayito de Sol to meet the special needs of toddlers. Careful consideration is 16 months to 2 years old given to classroom arrangement and the selection of developmentally appropriate toys and equipment that encourages learning at each stage of toddler development.

Toddler learning areas

The learning areas are clearly defined and labeled to help your toddler understand that materials and equipment have a special place. Each interest area reflects the monthly theme with weekly enrichments that build on your toddler’s developing interests and abilities. All toys and equipment are easily accessible to each toddler. Your toddler is able to choose activities, toys, and equipment independently from six interest area options:

  • Art Area filled with toddler art materials
  • Discovery Area for exploration of science, math, and sensory activities
  • Construction Area with blocks for toddlers to manipulate
  • Dramatic Play Area for expressing creativity and imaginative play
  • Spanish Language Area for books and storytime
  • Music, Latin Dance, and Movement Area for active play

Rayito de Sol values daily communication between parents and caregivers during this period of rapidly emerging skills. Your toddler will eagerly greet you with pride as they excitedly share and point out daily projects and accomplishments. Our unique toddler curriculum serves as the foundation for later learning including during their preschool years. Research shows that by age 3, a child learns more than he/she will learn during the rest of their life combined.

Our teachers and Director are native speakers with many years of experience in early childhood education. Each brings unique teaching skills and a native accent, which gives your child the opportunity to explore and develop their knowledge about the Spanish culture first-hand.

With small toddler program classes, parents can be assured that their children are given personal attention and a safe, nurturing Spanish immersion experience in the class.
